Approach to Treatment:
Steven approaches psychotherapy from an integrative perspective, drawing from a broad
range of theory to individualize each treatment to his client's specific needs and personal
psychology. However, his work most emphasizes the contemporary psychodynamic
orientation, focusing on helping his clients gain personal insight as a means to promote
change and achieve growth. As a therapist, Steven is warm, empathic, responsive, and
genuine. He believes that the foundation to any treatment is a relationship, and he works hard
to build a caring relationship with each of his clients. While therapy can be a difficult process,
Steven strives to create an atmosphere of safety and connectedness where creativity, humor,
and playfulness all have a place.

California, Berkeley, graduating
summa cum laude and Phi Beta
Kappa. He received his M.A. while
attending the Wright Institute's,
Berkeley, CA, APA-accredited
doctoral program in clinical
psychology. Steven has experience
working in a variety of settings with
a diverse group of populations.
Most recently, he completed his
pre-doctoral internship at the
